We need to know which module is under the plastic cover on the passenger sidewall. As with any computer module, Match your S/N with the one you replace it with. In some models it is located behind a metal bracket that holds it in and will need to be unbolted. Be careful, no need to break it but it will come out. It has a plastic clip that holds it in, just reach up to the top of it and tug it out. There is a module under the glove box on the kick panel on the Passenger Side of the 1998 Explorer Sport, behind that plastic molding you see just inside the door on the right-hand floor. Which computer are you looking for? On the 1998 Explorer Sport? The Engine Control Module (ECM) or the Chassis Control Module (CCM) or the Airbag Module (Clock Spring)The answer that the Computer Control Module is under the Steering Column Airbag is the funniest thing I have ever heard. The computer module on the 2002 Explorer Sport is not located in the drivers side rear panel, does anyone know where it is located? On a 2002 Explorer Sport if you are looking for your code or computer then you will have to disconnect the battery and the passenger side airbag cover pull it off and gently remove the airbag by sliding it be careful not to deploy it and there will be the computer directly in front of you the 5 yellow numbers are your key code and this is how you also access the computer, I have a2001 Explorer sport and this is where I found it. Mine has 3 fuel pumps in the dual tanks system, one low pressure in each tank and one high pressure that mounts to the frame under the driver side seat. I can't answer the question that is being asked here, I don't know if my 89 F150 as a fuel pump driver module. But it could be a bad wire that's shutting down the fuel pump. Mine starts to cut off going down the road, but it will start right back up as if the fuel pump can't keep up. You also might want to wiggle test the wires under the hood. If you think it's your fuel pump, start it then wiggle those wires to see if that creates your problem. My truck is acting like the fuel pump is going out, I will need to find that bad wire to see if that was it. Then I can move those wires where it will allow it to start. I can wiggle or push the wires down by my left foot at the fire wall side to side where it won't allow it to start, it does allow it to crank but not start. John answered 4 months ago I'm just adding this thought or what I came across with my 89 F150 5.0 2WD extended cab XLT. On my 98 f150 I was not able to locate the FPDM under the spare time carraige. 2004 - 2008 F150 - Fuel Pump Driver Module - Just want to post this thread maybe to help someone out there.
